The overall planning area of the Central Plains Medical Sciences City spans 133.33 square kilometers, with a strategic focus on establishing itself as a biomedical health industry base, an international innovative talent center, and a pioneering zone for international medical healthcare. Emphasis is placed on the development of biomedicine, life sciences and healthcare, medical devices，research and development pilots, public science and technology services, cross-border medical care，cultural and recreational tourism, business and trade industries.

　　The Provincial Academy of Medical Sciences, the Central Plains Medical Sciences City, and biomedical health industry base have made overall planning, promoting integration and development. Since its unveiling on July 15, 2023, the Provincial Academy of Medical Sciences has brought together the prime resources provincewide in medicine, education, research, production and fund, with a total investment of over 80 billion yuan. It has introduced 54 biomedical enterprises such as Genertec, Sinopharm, CITIC, China Resources, Fosun, Gongdong Medical, LinaTech, Mevion Medical and IVD Medical, and established partnerships with 13 top 100 enterprises in China’s pharmaceutical industry. Adhering to the development mode of medical research, medical education, medical treatment, medical industry, and medical supply, Zhongyuan Nanozyme Laboratory has been set up. Eight clinical research institutes of the Provincial Academy of Medical Sciences have settled in, five industrial research institutes are under construction, and two public platforms in the field of medical devices have been built. The southern district of Henan Provincial People’s Hospital, Henan Hospital of Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Provincial Red Cross Blood Center have started construction, and the new campus of Medical School in Zhengzhou University has been determined to settle in. The Central Plains Medical Sciences City has also completed the first phase of the Medical Industry Park and put it into use. The Life Sciences Valley of Sinopharm Group and the International Medical Health Park of Genertec Group have begun construction. With the introduction of the administrative approval service of the Provincial Medical Products Administration Bureau and establishment of the sub-Center of the Provincial Drug Evaluation and Inspection Center, the City is achieving the flow of registration, application, approval and inspection in drug and medical device, ensuring convenient, accessible and prompt service.
